What is Restorative Yoga and What are the Benefits?
 

Although the word yoga may be intimidating to some, yoga is truly for everyone!

Restorative yoga helps enable deep relaxation as you hold gentle postures for longer periods of time.

Bringing the earth up to you by using props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks will allow you to comfortably achieve

postures without pain or strain. As you rest in each posture, you are free to relax not only physically but mentally and

emotionally through this slow nurturing class. For the duration of the posture, you will either rest in silent meditation or a

llow me to guide you with music, singing, or other sound healing instruments.

Restorative yoga benefits include:

* Helping combat mental and physical everyday stresses and common ailments such as anxiety,

headaches, backaches and body pain.

* Helps rest and still they mind while deeply relaxing the body.

* Improves the capacity for healing

* Increases flexibility

* Enhances mood

My goal by bringing restorative yoga to community is to create an inclusive and nurturing environment for all to explore

the benefits of yoga. Not only will students be guided through postures but I will also incorporate simple breath techniques a

nd easy to follow mantra chanting to aid in stress relief. My classes are design for anyone who has never taken a yoga class to

an advanced yoga student looking to deepen their practice.  Restorative yoga is wonderfully suited to all generations due to

the slow, gentle nature of the practice and variation of movements.
